Sean Zhang, Ph.D. 

Sean Zhang, Ph.D. is an Executive Director at Vivo Capital. Prior to joining Vivo Capital, he was a Vice President at Lilly Asia Ventures (LAV). He also worked as a management consultant at McKinsey’s Silicon Valley office, focused on strategic consulting for biotech, pharma and medtech companies.

Prior to McKinsey, Sean worked in business development and research at Allele biotech in San Diego. Sean completed his Postdoc research at UC San Diego in neuroscience and ophthalmology, and he holds Ph.D. in molecular biology from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and B.S. in Bioengineering from Xi’an Jiaotong University.
